from the foundation until today
1972
Founding of the company by Harald Laubinger.
1973
Already at that time, precision engineering equipment for universities as well as research and development centres
were designed and manufactured at the current location on a floor space of 1300 ft2.
1977
Josef Rickmann joins the company.
1980
First major order:
122 creep systems for a German steel company.
1981
Delivery of the first ultrasonic testing equipment for the aviation sector.
1983
First international order: supply of creep testing equipment for a customer in South Africa.
1993
Delivery of the first ultrasonic testing equipment for pipes.
1994
Delivery of the first forming system for aluminum components in the aerospace sector. A forerunner/predecessor/an early example of today's straightening system.
1998
Delivery of the first straightening system for aluminum components in the automotive sector.
2004
Construction of the first underfloor testing equipment UFPE. The UFPE is used to test the wheels of high-speed trains (ICE) in the installed condition.
2008
Major order for 11 ultrasonic inspection system for CFRP components of the Airbus A350 worldwide.
2018
Takeover of the company by
Thomas Thiemann. L+R remains an owner-managed company.

Foundation of LR-Q-System in Chattanooga TN, USA

Our company
The company Laubinger + Rickmann GmbH & Co. KG was established in 1972 by Harald Laubinger and has existed in its current legal form since 1977. At the beginning, the focus was on destructive material testing and furnace equipment building, but over the years the company’s activities expanded to non-destructive testing (NDT), and to building straightening systems and other special machines.
The number of employees has grown steadily since the company was established. Today Laubinger + Rickmann GmbH & Co. KG has around 120 employees.
In recent years, Laubinger + Rickmann GmbH & Co. KG has primarily been specializing in testing equipment for non-destructive testing, straightening and forming system, industrial automation and connecting individual equipment and system components. Our worldwide customers are in the aerospace, automotive, transportation (railway) and steel industries.
